I did not know Da Grin personally. But through his music I knew the artiste he was. And I was impressed. He was young and clearly bullish (in a good way, in his music) and knew just what he wanted out of his music. I watched him perform at Slushh and I thought to myself, Oh my! yummy. Then I heard him laugh that litlle laugh at the beginning of "Kondo" right before he says "its your boy Da Grin: and I just wanted to hug him. But now he is no more and we'll never hear that laugh on another record. But....his music, for however long we had it, will continue to live on.
